To undertake internal audits of Parkdean Resorts parks.
To provide advice and coaching to park teams to assist with their management of risk and maintenance of a secure control environment.
To undertake ad hoc investigations.
To provide independent assurance that Parkdean Resort’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.
Job Description:
- Undertake internal audits of parks in line with agreed audit scopes, principally covering protection of company assets; adherence to Company policies and procedures; adherence to regulatory and legal compliance requirements
- Identify and document existing and emerging issues, risks and opportunities, including potential income generation or cost saving Identify key audit findings and review these with the park General Manager and/or Regional Director
- Provide on-park advice and coaching to address key audit findings.
- Engage with operational teams to raise focus on control and to improve audit performance
- Prepare full audit reports on a timely basis, identifying audit findings and required remedial actions and submit these to the Internal Audit Manager for review.
- Complete audit report analysis as required by Internal Audit Manager
- Assist in the development and drafting of Company policies and procedures. Provide training and advice on emerging processes, policies and procedures
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the profile of the Internal Audit team, through the provision of value-adding services
- Undertake special investigations (for example into suspected instances of fraud) as required to meet the needs of the business
- Assist with the delivery of the group’s risk management programme
- On occasion you may be asked to perform additional duties or duties unrelated to your role after appropriate training is given.
Person Specification:
- Possess a willingness and ability to travel – this role is field based and will require a significant amount of travel, including overnight stays
- Good business awareness and a willingness to develop a detailed understanding of the Parkdean Resorts business.Good information gathering skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, with excellent time management and personal organisation.
- Ability to work independently to agreed timescales as well as being part of the wider internal audit team.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Well-developed numeracy and analytical skills.Tact, diplomacy and judgement.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity, objectivity and confidentiality.
- Prior experience of auditing and/or risk management is desirable but not essential
- Internal audit / accounting qualification such as IIA, CIA, ACCA or CIMA or willingness to work towards such as qualification desirable but not essential.
