An integral part of the People team, the primary focus of the People Development Manager – Central, is to manage and oversees the training programmes and requirements of the Central Office Employees. This position will deliver innovative thinking, the ability to draw inspiration from all around, keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field, and using the most updated techniques and methods. You will love this job and excel if you are just as passionate about training design as you are about training execution, facilitation and people management.

Job description:

This role will support the overall creation, delivery and evaluation of the organisations learning strategy, by being the link within the team, creating and delivering effective interventions across a wide       range of organisational, team and individual needs.

  

  • Develop content across a variety of management and leadership development topics including but not limited to:  leadership and management skills and best practices, soft skills, operational management,  and other non-technical training topics.
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Finance, IT, Marketing, HR, CEC and Digital to create training materials and facilitate sessions.
  • Facilitate and ensure the effective delivery of training through various learning modalities (instructor led by you, virtual, informal)
  • Implement training solutions, cohort sessions, and calls to discuss challenges and celebrate successes; conduct ad hoc sessions to provide immediate intervention as needed.
  • Conduct formal and informal coaching sessions with teams, leadership cohorts, etc. to reinforce transfer of knowledge, skills and behaviors into the organization.
  • Create, manage and deliver a regular calendar of training at the central office.
  • Continuous development and improvement of the central Induction process.  
  • Use  data analytics to measure training effectiveness and understand where further improvement can be made.
  • Coaching and building the capability of the L&D team, equipping them with tools and knowledge.
  • Driving brand consistency in our approach in managing and developing talent at Central to become the employer of choice.
  • Liaise with technical experts and other stakeholders to manage the design, continuous  improvement and delivery of departmental training.
  • Keeping up-to-date on the latest training trends, developments and best practices
  • Identifying and implementing a wide range of training techniques to improve efficiency and returns on investment
  • Support in the delivery of the Central Academy for Apprentices.
  • It is your responsibility to report any weakness or breach that you identify within the Company’s information systems or services (even if only suspected).
  • You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, guests, and visitors.
  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and you also have a duty to report all concerns and co-operate with management to enable it to comply with its health and safety and safeguarding accountabilities

Person Specifications:
  • Organisation, planning and prioritisation is a must.
  • Ability to engage, communicate and influence at all business levels.
  • Be able to demonstrate commercial focus.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the business.
  • Ability to travel frequently around the UK with overnight stays.
  • Full driving license.
