A member of the Corporate Communications team, working alongside the Head of Corporate and ESG Communications to ensure that corporate and ESG communications, both internally and externally, are on brand and align with the business strategy for the year.   

The Corporate Communications Executive will be based at the Central Support Office in Leeds. Occasional visits to the Central Support Office in Newcastle and visits to parks across the UK will be required. Reporting into the Head of Corporate and ESG Communications, you will be responsible for producing compelling and positive content through our channels.

You will be part of a dynamic function that produces communications and maintains relationships with various stakeholders including the public, governmental bodies, investors, employees, and media outlets. The role is focused on building company reputation, promoting positive relationships, and ensuring alignment with the company objectives.

Great content is at the heart of what we do, whether you are editing a detailed report, writing a brief, composing social media posts, or drafting articles from scratch, you will need to be an excellent wordsmith and have experience in this area.

We are committed to caring for our parks, people, and planet, and the majority of content we produce promotes the work we do in the ESG space. We are looking for someone to join our communications team who has an active passion for sustainability and supporting our people, charity partners, and communities.

This is the perfect opportunity for communications professionals who have an interest in ESG and corporate affairs and want to create exciting and informative content for a range of different audiences.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Writing, proofreading, and editing copy.
  • Drafting press releases, reactive media comments, briefing notes.
  • Working at pace to deliver clear, impactful, and engaging communications.
  • Submit well-structured drafts to senior team members within deadlines.
  • Produce, update, and circulate strategic communications plans.
  • Conduct research into topics to assist campaigns.
  • Be proficient in working with external design agencies to create engaging digital and printed content – including videos, infographics, reports, presentation decks, event assets and promotional materials of different styles based on requirements.
  • Updating and maintaining the corporate website
  • Assist in video and photography shoots – including testimonials, vlogs, photography for news and media, and corporate event footage.
  • Event planning, venue and talent booking for any corporate events – liaising with external stakeholders.
  • Track, analyse and report on success, whilst learning along the way.
  • Process team admin such as expenses, invoices, POs etc.

Person Specification 

  • Strong copy writing and proofing skills, with excellent attention to detail at all times.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with style adaptable to suit different channels and audiences.
  • Strong technical / computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask, prioritise and work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Have the confidence to build strong productive working relationships with people at all levels of our business.
  • Team player with positive attitude and a creative approach.
  • A passion for ESG including sustainability and charity work.
  • A high level of creativity.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
  • Ideally two years’ experience in communications.
  • Ability to travel around the UK to visit parks if required.
  • Full, clean, driving licence.
