Head of Operations Finance
Are you agile and resilient with a passion for developing and leading a fantastic team? Then join the UK’s largest holiday park operator as Head of Operations Finance and help us bring holiday happy to the nation!
As a member of Parkdean Resorts’ Finance Leadership Team, and reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will help to define and deliver our Finance vision by leading our Commercial Business Partnering function.
The Head of Operations Finance supports the Chief Operating Officer to drive outstanding results by providing critical, value-adding insight and analysis. Our business partners need to adapt to the changing needs of the business, whilst maintaining robust, efficient processes and pursuing continuous improvement.
The Finance Business Partners (FBPs) support Operations, Central and Regional Directors and park General Managers so you need to be an effective team leader, able to stretch and inspire the team as a highly trusted professional network within the business.

Objectives:
- Support the Chief Operating Officer to Drive performance through insight and commercial acumen, supporting them to understand implications of performance trends and variances to plan
- Work collaboratively across Finance and Operations to get things done. Candidates must be able to work across a matrix organisation, lead change outside of functional boundaries and drive efficiencies through effective influence
- Work with Regional Directors, the FBPs and other stakeholders to proactively improve the commercial performance of the parks, ensuring relevant measures are set and monitored to keep progress on track, and bringing challenge to regular financial reviews
- Continually review key metrics and the presentation of KPIs so that these drive the right behaviours across the business
- Ensure that FBPs deliver high quality, timely input to the Group’s strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting processes (across parks and central services), working collaboratively with the wider Finance Leadership Team and function to deliver an efficient, thorough and insightful outcome
- Lead the Finance Business Partners team to provide a professional and consistent function across regions and functions. Develop and guide the team as an engaged and proactive function, delivering high quality service. Demonstrate and model clear communication, resilience and energy with regular team meetings and 1-2-1s, and a tailored development plan for each member of the team, whilst responding effectively and swiftly to performance issues
- Through your insight and commercial acumen, you will identify potential risks and opportunities, build effective relationships with senior stakeholders to implement mitigating or maximising actions, and demonstrating resilience to bring effective challenge when required
- Oversee the development of thorough and consistent investment plans across the group
- Support stakeholders to appreciate the impact on working capital of operating decisions
- Monitor the development of Park/region action plans, ensuring that FBPs execute action plans to address performance shortfalls and provide clear reporting on delivery
- As a senior Finance Leader, work with Group Finance Director and Finance Leadership Team to shape and communicate best practice through the business

- Able to communicate at all levels – this role will interact with Administrators, General Managers and Heads of Departments on park, through to the Group’s CEO, CFO and COO
- Committed to developing and leading a team, with a commitment to psychological safety, experience of coaching & identifying development needs and enthusiastic about regular 1-2-1s and performance reviews
- Strong commercial acumen – able to identify opportunities for growth, mitigation of risks from both a tactical and strategic perspective
- Track record of delivering continuous improvement in a multi-site context
- Highly numerate and analytical
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Highly organised
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet agreed timescales
- Able to maintain a high-level strategic view of the business, whilst also being willing and able to support team members in the detail when necessary
- Commitment to high quality and excellent customer service/stakeholder management

Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with significant PQE in industry
- Management experience in multi-site business partnering, management information and report is essential
- Retail/hospitality experience beneficial
- Outstanding financial analysis skills, with the ability to gather, manipulate and present large quantities of data effectively
- Strong track record in delivering strategic business planning & forecasting exercises
- TM1 experience beneficial
