Senior Management Accountant

Job Purpose:

Owner of Accounting for Marketing and Repairs & Maintenance costs whilst providing key financial information and insight to business stakeholders and maintaining a robust controls environment.

Job Description:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentaries for Marketing and Repairs & Maintenance costs, including production of accruals & prepayments.


• Line Management responsibility for one Direct Report.


• Monitoring and reviewing the accuracy of postings including approving journals.


• Managing weekly and month-end processes with specific responsibility to improve timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of reporting.


• Main point of contact for Marketing, Web Dev, Partnerships teams, responsible for supporting with queries / requests.


• Prepare supplementary monthly reporting for Fleet R&M, Direct Cost reclasses and Site Vehicles, engaging with relevant stakeholders.


• Contribute to the budget and planning process, supporting the FBPs when required.


• Provide regular and ad-hoc management reporting and analysis for decision making.


• Completion of and reviewing Balance Sheet Reconciliation including owning, monitoring and addressing reconciling items, identifying risks and opportunities.


• Design and embed processes to drive accountability and action around the reduction of re-class journals for direct costs.


• Work with business stakeholders and the P2P team to improve the understanding of and visibility of GRNI.


• Responding to Audit requests during the year end process.


• Carry out continuous reviews of work practices to ensure efficient and cost effective operations, suggesting improvements where required.

• Safeguard your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, customers and visitors. Ensuring quality, compliance and Health & Safety standards across the Finance Team.


• Ensuring an appropriate internal control framework is in place to safeguard the business and ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.

Person Specification:

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA


• Experience of multi-site or similar size Business


• Experience of supporting operational teams


• Sun systems knowledge preferred


• Experience of Microsoft packages


• Process improvement and working in a fast paced environment
