What makes a five-star bar team?

Posting date: 08/02/2024

Have you ever stepped into a bar and immediately felt a buzz in the air? That's the magic of a five-star bar team at work.

Spot them in action and you’ll see them setting the bar up for a great service and serving drinks with a welcoming smile. But there’s a whole lot more that goes into creating this magic.

From the art of crafting unique concoctions to the dance of teamwork, our bar teams show up every day and remind us of their brilliance. How do they do it?

They welcome everyone with open arms

It doesn’t matter if you’re a visitor or a fellow team member, our parks are a safe place for all. Safe to have fun and be yourself.

We all bring something different to the table. No, we’re not talking about the drinks order. From quirky habits to undeniable strengths, it's the little details that define you.

Find a five-star bar team and you won't just feel like you belong. You'll feel encouraged to let your personality shine through.

They care

Our bar team are one-of-a-kind. They care about our visitors having the best experience. They create unforgettable moments, making sure every person leaves our parks with memories they’ll look back on for a long, long time.

How do they do this? They remember the holidaymakers who have come back for the second year running and greet them with a friendly wave. Or, they note a family walk in that will need some extra assistance getting seated, and they’re on the case.

In other words, they make great things happen every day through their small but mighty actions.

They know how to have fun

It’s clearly no secret that we think our bar teams are the best about. And we know what you might be thinking, ‘Of course they’re going to say that’. But it’s honestly true and you don’t need to look any further than Scott to see what we mean.

Scott has dabbled in a few roles, including Bar Supervisor, Chef and now Head Chef. For him, the culture you find at a holiday park is like nothing else. Scott’s been a part of the wider food and beverage team for 14 years now, so he’s something of an expert on what makes a great team.

They get the job done

If a challenge crops up, they’re on it. A drink order goes wrong? They’re fixing it pronto. And if a team member needs a hand? Well, they're practically speed demons rushing over to help out.

So, if you're wondering what sets them apart, it's not just their skill with drinks. It's their knack for turning hiccups into high-fives and making teamwork look like a breeze.

They celebrate each other

Is there anything better than working with people who motivate you and bring out your best?

Teams work best when everyone builds each other up. They genuinely root for each other's success because, when one shines, they all shine! So, even if their bar buddy decides to explore a new team (and we definitely have a few stories of people moving from food and beverage to customer-facing to support roles), they’re not just clinking glasses, they're toasting to their victory.

It’s this team spirit that we look for in all our bar staff because nothing makes us happier than seeing our bar staff cheer each other on.

Come and see where your closest Parkdean bar job is

Reckon that you’ve got the Parkdean team spirit? Yeah, we think so too.

You won’t always be on the serving side of the bar. You’ll get to enjoy 30% off park activities, food and drink - just one of the many great employee benefits we offer all our people. Cheers to that!

Being the UK’s largest holiday park organisation, you’re not going to be short on choice. So head to our latest bar jobs at Parkdean to find a role near you. You’ll find a mix of jobs, including bar staff, bar supervisor and food and beverage supervisor.
