5 ways our people show their love for our planet

Posting date: 01/05/2024

Let’s get real, our planet needs a helping hand, and we’re not shy about it. And now more than ever, it’s game on. With last year being the hottest on record, the 2024 climate crisis forecast isn’t looking so bright. It’s clear we all have to play our part even more in 2024 and beyond.

Is caring for the environment everyone's responsibility? Here at Parkdean, it is! We’re hands-on with the cause and stepping up to do our bit.

We’re firm believers that a greener workplace isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for your mind, body and soul too! If you’re just as hyped about what you can do to save the environment you’ll fit right in here.

Hop in and read on for five ways our awesome people show their love for our awesome planet!

How do we protect the environment?

Whether it's beach clean-ups or implementing eco-friendly resources, we're dedicated to leading by example, always asking the question “How can we encourage others to care for the environment?”.

Check out some incredible efforts our teams have made across our breathtaking locations. Experience the Parkdean spirit firsthand and see how we spark a passion for protecting the earth!

Beach cleans

We’re known for our beach cleaning activities across our locations, even taking part in the Great British Beach Clean and setting new records!

We care about our guests, our team and our communities, always looking to go above and beyond while living and breathing our values. That’s why we’ve worked with the Marine Conservation Society on some of our clean-ups.

Recycling waste

From our beach cleans, we round up a lot of waste (as you can imagine!), but it doesn’t just stop there.

Whether we're turning beach bits into a cracking Christmas tree to bring awareness to marine waste or getting crafty with recycled benches from beach plastic, we're all about the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle! These projects show our love for keeping it green and having a laugh while doing it.

At Parkdean, we're not just picking up litter – we're turning it into wholesome reminders to care for our planet.

Electric vehicles

Last year, we hit the accelerator by dropping some news: electric vehicles are taking over our parks!

This year you better buckle up as we’ll have 300 ePowerTrucks in an effort to slash our carbon emissions. Electric vehicles definitely play a big role in the future of transport, they’re more efficient, cleaner and quieter than your average vehicle.

When you join the Parkdean crew, you could even be driving one of these around our parks!

Eco-friendly resources

Back in 2018, we waved goodbye to plastic straws and welcomed paper ones at all of our parks before it was the ‘in’ thing.

And in 2022, we went even greener with carbon-neutral bedding and mattresses along with eco-friendly mattress protectors across all of our parks (we were one of the first holiday park operators in the UK to do that!).

These small changes go a long way when it comes to doing our bit. Join us at Parkdean and know that every drink you pour and every bed you make is a win for Mother Earth!

Marine mammal medics

Our Ruda Ranger squad are always ready when it comes to saving marine life. As the heroes of the beach, they’ve been trained as qualified Marine Mammal Medics with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue. They’re fully trained to rescue any whale, dolphin, porpoise or seal in the local area. And hey, if you love animals and wildlife as much as we do, then that’s a huge win!

Show your love for the planet with the Parkdean Team

A career in Parkdean is so much more than a job. Whether you're serving drinks with paper straws, making beds with the planet in mind, or cruising in style with electric vehicles, you're part of our commitment to the environment. Join in with beach clean-ups, knowing every piece of rubbish you collect is recycled and reused.

Taking care of our parks, people, and planet is a priority for us, and we’re always looking to bring in more people to join our cause. Let’s fight climate change together!
