5 reasons uni students should get a job at Parkdean

Posting date: 22/05/2024

When it comes to summer jobs for uni students, the opportunities can really be endless.

Maybe you prefer a more traditional experience and enjoy the office, maybe you fancy taking the summer to rest up before the start of the next academic year, or maybe you’re looking for something a bit more outside of the box. That’s where a job at Parkdean comes in (did we mention we also offer graduate roles too?)!

It might be the ‘fun’ choice but we promise that doesn’t mean it's not a smart career move!

If you’re wondering “Should uni students get a job?”, we’ve put together some reasons why Parkdean is the perfect place to earn a bit of extra cash, meet some new pals, gain some new skills and make some awesome memories in beautiful places.

Oh, and by the way, we’re really into protecting our planet too! When you kick off your summer gig with us, you’ll be doing your bit for the earth - cool right?

1.Crafting skills to spice up your future

Whether you’re well into your uni adventure or starting after the summer ends, diving into a hospitality role with Parkdean can be a game changer. When it comes to picking up some early work experience and transferable skills that will last you a lifetime, we’ve got you covered.

No matter if you join the team as a helping hand in the kitchen, on one of our five-star bar teams, or as a sanitation superhero on the cleaning team, there’s plenty to pick up to add to your skills belt.

From customer service and teamwork to communication and time management (and of course much, much more!), there’s a lot you can take away from your Parkdean experience and put to use in your studies or future career.

2. A seasonal side hustle

If you’re thinking of ways to make a few extra pounds to set you up for starting or moving back to uni, our seasonal roles might be just what you’re looking for!

Not only will you gain some skills and experience, but you’ll also get to do it when you’ve got no study commitments or exams. It’s the perfect time to put towards developing yourself, your skills and finding out a bit more about what kind of work you enjoy before finishing your degree.

3. Coming back for round two (or three)

When the next summer rolls around, you won’t have to worry anymore about where to apply for a new seasonal role.

If you enjoy round one (which we’re sure you will!), it doesn’t have to end with the summer. Many students who come to work in our beautiful locations give it another whirl the following year.

So far, that’s some skills to spice up the CV, a way to fit around your studies AND you’re back for round two, skipping the whole awkward new job thing!

4. Besties for life

Working with a team for the whole summer is a rock-solid way to make some deep friendships.

Sharing laughter during shifts, bonding over challenges and creating memories during downtime makes a pal for life. Whether you're cheering your victories or exploring new places around our parks together, there’s always something for you and your Parkdean bestie to get up to.

With friendships that extend beyond the summer, you’ll be buzzing for the next time you come back to Parkdean, ready to do it all over again!

5. Beautiful Scenery

Who wouldn’t want to clock in with a backdrop straight out of a postcard? When you work at one of our gorgeous locations, that’s just standard!

Working in stunning scenery isn’t just about the view - it’s about the vibe. Imagine starting your day with views of the coast or ending it with a sunset over the ocean! It’s definitely good for recharging those batteries or finding inspiration in nature’s beauty.

Join us this summer!

Here’s hoping we answered your question “Should uni students work?”. When it comes to a gig at Parkdean, the answer is yes! From skills, experience, cracking views and besties for life, what’s not to love about this seasonal side hustle?
