We have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active junior lawyer to join our in-house legal team. 

 

Our legal team plays a key part in helping the business to achieve its objectives.  The work is fast-paced, varied and technically challenging.  The high calibre team has seven solicitors and is a fantastic environment to continue to develop your legal skills.

What you will be doing...

 

  • You would primarily be focusing on a diverse and interesting range of commercial contracts.  As with any in-house role, you’d also get involved in a range of other projects and matters.
  • You would help the group review and negotiate a wide variety of interesting, high value and complex contracts.  These could include: purchase of goods and services, IT infrastructure, software, brand partnerships, energy and utilities, food and drink, marketing, professional services, finance and many others… 
  • You would also advise the group on consumer matters, including consumer facing terms and conditions, marketing promotions, consumer disputes, and travel law queries. 
  • You would also support with business specific projects and other in-house legal work as required.  This involves liaising with internal stakeholders at all levels across the business, including procurement, operations, finance, marketing and central functions.
  • We are a friendly, collaborative and personable team.  Our solicitors have a wide range of legal experience gained both in private practice and in-house covering corporate, commercial, property, litigation and regulatory law.   You will be supervised by solicitors in the team, so there is always someone to provide support and help you develop your skills. 

 

 

 

Some of the skills and experience we are looking for:

 

 

  • Solicitor qualified in England and Wales with at least 1 year PQE.
  • Commercial contract experience is required.
  • Consumer law experience is desirable (but not essential as training will be provided).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks according to business requirements, having the flexibility to adapt where necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to proactively identify legal issues at the earliest opportunity and develop and implement appropriate strategies to address them.
