If you’re looking for jobs in finance or considering finance assistant jobs, keep reading to learn more about our opportunities!

Boredom? Not in this line of work! With seasons, trends, and guests changing like the weather, finance pros here are like superheroes—always ready to save the day by adapting on the fly. This is a great industry for jobs involving finance and high-level strategy.

We sat down with Melissa to understand her journey as a finance grad at Parkdean Resorts.

The Parkdean Finance Graduate journey: why Melissa applied

I mentioned the finance graduate role to my husband, and his question to me was, “Why would you not apply?” I couldn’t give him an answer.

I understood the role would involve lots of hard work and studying, but having been supported through previous qualifications at Parkdean Resorts, I knew I would be given support through this, too. I knew I couldn’t miss an opportunity to progress further in my career.

More Than Numbers: The Best Part of Working in Parkdean Finance Jobs

Most of all, the people!

By having amazing support from the people around me, I have been able to build a career through development opportunities.

Building a career: support for finance professionals at Parkdean

I joined Parkdean over 13 years ago on a 6-month temporary contract with no finance experience.

Throughout my career, I have been supported every step of the way. I’ve been encouraged to take up opportunities, including completing my AAT qualification, a Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship, and now, working to achieve my ACCA qualification.

Both managers and colleagues have greatly supported me when I’ve been on their team by answering any queries I’ve had and walking me through new and complex processes. The commitment to development here is huge for anyone looking for jobs in finance!

What does your day-to-day look like in your role?

One of the great things about the Finance Graduate role is that you’re given exposure to all areas of finance within Parkdean.

Finance graduates rotate teams every six months. The further I got along the scheme, the more I was able to use the knowledge I’ve built up to be able to contribute to the team I’m in.

The work I’ve been involved in has varied from month-end management accounts to project managing a system upgrade.
