Thunderbird Fried Chicken is one man’s mission to make ‘Fried Chicken Great Again’
Since starting in street food in 2017, Thunderbird Fried Chicken has taken the capital by storm and developed a devoted following of Fried Chicken Fanatics. The brainchild of Matt Harris, a self-confessed ‘food nerd’ who during his earlier career in competitive motorsports discovered a passion for American soul food of the deep south.
On his return to London, Matt launched the BBQ Lab, which evolved into the Thunderbird Fried Chicken, as we know and love today. Matt’s legendary ‘Chipuffalo Wing’ won the 2015 Wing Fest competition, for the best wings in London, and that’s where our story starts. We’re fiendishly passionate about making the best fried chicken, and our award-winning wings are loved by our raving fans.
We are a young vibrant fast-growing company, and we are looking for motivated, guest obsessed and passionate people who care about great food and great service to join our family. What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure high levels of presentation are maintained both front and back of house.
- Operate in line with brand standards.
- Prepare and cook food to a high standard.
- Give excellent customer service.
- It is your responsibility to report any weakness or breach that you identify within the Company’s information systems or services (even if only suspected).
- Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and you have a duty of care for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, guests, and visitors. You must report any concerns and co-operate with management to enable it to comply with its health and safety and safeguarding accountabilities.
What we are looking for in a fry-tastic Crew Member:
- You’re passionate about delivering a fantastic guest experience and serving some great fried chicken.
- You’re a go-getter who don’t settle for just being “okay” - you’re obsessed with the detail and want to deliver Gold Standard every time.
- You’re a great communicator and take time to truly listen and take feedback onboard.
- You’re a clean freak and take pride in the appearance of both you and your restaurant.
Desired experience:
- Experience within a kitchen, confident to prepare and cook food independently.
- Customer focused approach with a passion for delivering excellent service.
- Confident working in a fast paced and demanding food and beverage environment.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 & 3.
